The plate on the left side (115 x 105cm) represents King Gaspar accompanied by an angel just as he is making his offering.

The righthand plate (195 x 127cm) shows Melchior and Balthasar, preparing to offer their gifts.

The third plate (255 x 155cm), which occupies the recess in the apse, is of a striking splendour and beauty, both for the perfect balance of the chromatism and the shrewd disposition of the images, inscribed within a "mandorla" formed by two strips of blue and red.

In the centre, Mary, seated on a high throne, opens her arms wide to her divine Son in the centre of her lap, whilst Jesus raises his right hand in blessing and holds a rolled-up parchment in the left.

Mary is crowned with a yellow halo behind a white wimple which covers her hed and fails down over her shoulders. She is wearing a red tunic and a voluminous blue mantle, which spreads out in loose folds throughout the image. In the centre of this blue background the figure of the Child, dressed in a reddish tunic and mantle, provides a strikingly effective contrast.
